Preparatory meeting on 2024 Lok Sabha election, National Voters Day held
Review meeting on preparations for the forthcoming General Election to Lok Sabha in 2024 and the celebration of National Voters Day (NVD) on January 25, 2024, was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve on January 8.
Concerns were raised regarding the inadequacies in facilities across the 298 polling stations in Leh district. Issues such as the shortage of drinking water, ramp facilities, electricity, toilet facilities, and mobile network connectivity at various polling stations were highlighted.
In addition to the election preparations, discussions encompassed the upcoming National Voters Day celebration. DC, Leh, emphasized the need for well-executed plans and urged officers to support Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by providing their performance data.
DC Leh directed Assistant Electoral Roll Officers (AEROs) to visit polling stations, address issues, and ensure the submission of necessary data by January 20, 2024. He stressed the importance of ensuring 100% provision of basic facilities in all polling stations.
The meeting saw the participation of Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Electoral Officer of UT Ladakh, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Executive Engineers from PWD, PDD, and PHE, all Tehsildar (AEROS), State SVEEP Nodal Officer, and Assistant District Informatics Officer (ADIO), Leh.
