A training programme for the poll officials regarding Electoral Roll Management System (ERMS) was imparted on May 5 at National Informatics Center, Kargil.

The training was organised as per the direction of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, and Kashmir.  The aim was to make electoral registration officers (EROs), assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs) and Data Entry Operators acquainted about the electoral roll revision and other related aspects.

Underlining the importance of the training programme, Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil said, “This will help in upgrading the expertise of the EROs, AEROs, and Data Entry Operators. Also, it will widen their perspective to deal matters pertaining to the election process."

He urged upon the concerned officials to attend the training and further sharpen their skills to handle the elections.

The trainers apprised the officers about the constitutional and legal provisions of elections, NVSP, ERONET Version 2, the process of filling forms in ERONET and other related aspects.

Nargis Banoo, Deputy District Election Officer, Kargil,  Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Data Entry Operators of ERMS and other concerned officials attended the day.
