Over 200 youth attend awareness programme on unemployment in Khaltsi Youth urged to explore avenues in private sector instead of depending on government jobs

To create awareness among the unemployed youths, awareness programme on ‘Employment and Entrepreneurship’ was organised on May 10 at Khaltse sub-division.
The programme was organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Leh in collaboration with J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Leh. Students of Higher Secondary School Khaltse, Saspol, Tingmosgang and around 200 unemployed youth attended.
Sachin Kumar, SDM Khaltse urged youths to explore new avenues in private sector instead of depending on government job.
He stressed upon the youth to come forward and avail opportunities from such programs and to explore alternative ventures which have an immense scope to tackle unemployment issue.
A interactions session was also held. Sachin Kumar advised students to put their efforts in gaining quality education for bright future.
Mohd Taqi, Deputy Director Employment and Dorjey Angchuk, Executive Manager JKEDI also spoke on the occasion.
They mentioned about the preparation methods and materials for civil services and other competitive exams.
Talking about unemployment issue, speakers urged students to look for entrepreneurship avenues rather than just going for government jobs which is very limited.
A resource person from JKEDI, Food Craft Institute, DE&CC talked about various programs, courses and schemes on entrepreneurship, skill development, and subsidized credit schemes.
