One-day Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission workshop in Kargil reviews progress and challenges

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Ladakh, organized a one-day workshop in Kargil on February 9 to review its implementation and assess progress among various stakeholders.
Director of Health Services, Ladakh, Dr. Tashi Thinles, attended as the chief guest. Also present were ABDM Director (Coordination) Dr. Phunchok Nurboo, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil Dr. Liyaqat Ali Khan, Project Manager ABDM Tashi Angmo, Block Medical Officers (BMOs), doctors, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Tashi Thinles emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the e-hospital system in the district. He urged all stakeholders to dedicate themselves to the initiative and collaborate for its success.
CMO Kargil, Dr. Liyaqat Ali Khan, highlighted ABDM’s role in securing patient records, which will enhance healthcare services in Ladakh. He noted that the e-hospital system minimizes paperwork and strengthens ongoing transformations in the health sector under ABDM.
Project Manager ABDM, Tashi Angmo, provided a detailed presentation on the scheme, showcasing achievements and areas needing improvement for more effective implementation. The presentation covered key topics such as the Health Professional Registry (HPR) status of model facilities, the HPR status of doctors, and the usage of the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in District Hospitals (DH), Community Health Centers (CHCs), and Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Kargil.
A practical session demonstrated how to update facility details, enhancing participants' understanding of the e-hospital system. Additionally, the presentation highlighted the five-month ABHA usage trend on HMIS, integration with other programs like the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) initiative, lab integration, and the status of model facilities and DHIS in Kargil.
The workshop concluded with a Q&A session, where experts addressed participants' concerns and clarified doubts regarding the system.
The District Hospital Kargil was recognized for its outstanding implementation of ABDM. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to top performers for their contributions to ABDM’s overall implementation and its integration with other programs at the district, CHC, PHC, and block levels.
