New community radio station in Hanle to promote culture and empower locals

Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, YSM**, VSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, inaugurated a Community Radio Station in Hanle on November 24.

Civilian dignitaries from the Changthang region and community members from Hanle, Punguk, and Khaldo villages attended the event. This initiative aims to enhance socio-economic development in the region by extending communication reach.

The radio station will broadcast programs in Ladakhi, Hindi, and English, focusing on information, education, entertainment, and local culture. It is envisioned as a platform to promote cultural heritage, address social issues, and empower youth and women.

This project highlights the Army's commitment to integration, bridging gaps in remote areas, and promoting local development.
