National Girl Child Day celebrated in Shargole
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Shargole celebrated National Girl Child Day at Government High School Shargole on January 24.
Speakers talked about the importance of National Girl Child Day and the need to eradicate social taboos. They encouraged reporting instances of domestic violence to concerned authorities and spoke about the rights of girls enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
CDPO Farida Batool said that the ICDS Project Shargole is dedicated to community empowerment and gender equality. She emphasised on evolving role of women in decision-making. The event concluded with the distribution of sanitary pads among the participants.
The event underscored the collective commitment to create a more inclusive and progressive society, echoing the theme of empowerment for the girl child.
Every year, National Girl Child Day is observed on January 24 to raise awareness of the difficulties that girls in Indian society endure. The day promotes equal opportunities in education, healthcare, and nutrition while raising awareness of the injustice that girls face.
