MP Ladakh chairs review meeting to assess progress of developmental activities in Kargil

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, chaired a review meeting at the Council Secretariat, Kargil on April 26 to assess the progress of various developmental activities in Baroo village.
The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor for Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohammad Feroz; Councillor for Baroo-Minjee Constituency, Advocate Khadim Hussain; Executive Engineers from PHE, R&B, Irrigation, Mechanical, and PDD departments; Tehsildar Kargil; representatives from the Municipality; and members of the village committees of Baroo and Titichumik.
Detailed discussions were held on key sectors including irrigation, revenue, Public Health Engineering (PHE), roads, municipal services, and other essential services. The MP reviewed the status of ongoing and proposed projects and issued necessary directions to the concerned departments for effective and timely execution of both major and minor works.
Emphasizing the importance of community involvement, the MP urged villagers to extend full cooperation during the execution of projects to ensure smooth and efficient completion. He also assured that a follow-up review meeting would be conducted within the next two months to monitor the progress and implementation of the directions given.
During the meeting, Advocate Khadim Hussain raised several pressing issues including the macadamization of the NHIDCL 0-6 stretch, installation of street lights, demand for a separate Patwari for Baroo, solar lift irrigation schemes, delimitation within MC Kargil, and the need for additional manpower in the Municipality.
The concerned departmental heads assured early and necessary action on the issues highlighted.
MP Ladakh also directed the concerned officers to maintain close coordination with villagers at every stage of developmental works to ensure transparency and active community participation.
