Paying tribute to the valor and sacrifice of the valiant soldiers who gave their lives for the nation, ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign commenced at different Panchayats of Kargil district on August 9.

The campaign was organised by the RD&PRD Kargil in collaboration with District Administration Kargil.

The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign was conducted at various Gram Panchayats from different blocks across the district Kargil which include Barsoo block, Government Boys Middle School Akchamal (Sodh), Gram Panchayat Choskor (Kargil), TSG Block, Sankoo Block, Taisuru Block besides, BDOs, other block & Tehsil level officers during the events.

Remarkable participation of people coupled with enthusiasm was witnessed at all the locations. The NRLM staff, NYK volunteers, VLWs, GRS, students and teachers also participated enthusiastically.

Students from many schools participated as well.

‘Merri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign envisages covering a range of activities that have been planned for the upcoming days to commemorate the sacrifices of veers and to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav, culminating 75 years of independence.
