MenTsee Khang organises medical camp in Spituk

Observing the birth centenary celebration of Gyalsras Bakula Rinpoche, a medical camp was organised by Men Tsee Khang Leh in collaboration with Pegon Phagspa Nastan Bakula institute on April 21 in Spituk.

The main aim was to pay tribute to Gyalsras Bakula Rinpoche and remembering his achievement in various fields.

The cost of consultation and transportation was made free by Men Tsee Khang and the medicine was sponsored by Pegon Nastan Bakula Institute.
 
The patients who came to consult were mostly the senior monks of Spituk monastery and people of its village. Doorstep treatment was also provided.

Treatment for the diseases like joint and nerve pain, cough, breathing problems, stomachache, indigestion, headache, constipation, sleep deprivation, weakness and many others were given.

Morup Namgyal, Member, Organising committee for the centenary celebration of Gyalsras Bakula Rinpoche appreciated the team for making the medical camp successful. Also, he commemorates the Bakula Rinpoche’s vision to improve the Tibetan medicine and the establishment of the first kind of government research institute in Leh. 
 
Dr. Sonam Wangchuk also appreciated the people who came and participated in the medical camp. 

Karma Tsering, Managing Director Men Tsee Khang was grateful to all the people for making the medical camp successful. He presented scarf and herbal product to the organising committee member and head of the institute.
 
The medical camp revived traditional medicine practice and awareness among the public. 

Traditional Tibetan medicine was practiced as the main form of medical health care system in the Himalayan region before the introduction of the modern biomedical system. Still, people have high belief and respect in traditional medicine. 

Men Tsee Khang team led by Karma Tsering, In charge, Dr. Thinlay Namgyal, Sherap Dorjee, Accountant,  Rigzin Dorjee, Dispenser, Yangchen Dolma and  Lobsang Dolma intern were present in the camp.
