Leh :
The Medical Department of Ladakh observed the 2nd round of National Deworming Day (NDD) on September 10, implementing the fixed day approach across all schools and Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) in the region.

This initiative adhered to the standard operational guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Health workers visited schools and Anganwadi Centers throughout Ladakh to administer deworming medication to children. This effort, led by the Health Department, aims to protect children from parasitic worm infections, which can impair their growth and development.

The National Deworming Day program is vital for improving children's health by preventing worm-related illnesses and ensuring better nutritional outcomes. The Medical Department remains dedicated to the well-being of every child in Ladakh, and this program is a significant component of that commitment.
