An interactive session on the challenges for the entrepreneur of Ladakh was held on 3rd April at Lotsava auditorium, Culture academy Leh.  The event was organized by Speak Ladakh in collaboration with J&K Culture Academy and information office on the theme “What are the challenges for the entrepreneurs from Ladakh?”

Leading entrepreneurs like Chhewang Mutup -Rimo expedition, Jigmet Nurbo -Jigmet Couture, Sonam Phuntsog -Onpo dairy, Zubir Ahmed –Ladakh Agro Products and founder of LOFF were the entrepreneur.

 

The session was carried on with a vision to inspire and help the youths in choosing entrepreneurship as a career or who have already chosen it.

The leading entrepreneurs of Ladakh shared their success story and discussed various issues and challenges. 

One of the ways to solve the issue of unemployment is through entrepreneurship. Youths of today can go extra mile and effort to start a new innovative venture. The struggle for the government job has been a big trend in Ladakh. It’s the time for the youth to change the mindset and go for self-employment.

The panelist along with their success story stresses on the patience, hard work and passion for the work which is an utmost thing to achieve success in life.  Passion is the energy that pushes and motivates us to do more and better. 

Stressed on keeping entrepreneurship as a career option like other profession, Dorjay Angchuk, Executive Manager- JKEDI talked about the various schemes provided by the government and the need for planning and survey before starting a venture. 

J&K Bank Branch Manager, Zampa also spoke on the occasion. 

Speak Ladakh is a social enterprise formed (unofficially) in mid-2012. Later it was officially reformed as social enterprise registered under Societies Reg. Act VI of 1998 J&K with an objectives to highlight and find creative solutions to social, economic and environmental issues in Ladakh, to create platform to inculcate the spirit of public speaking in our youth and to bring the importance of dialogue in this conflicting world and to bring the spirit of entrepreneurship in our youth and to create job opportunities in Ladakh.
