L-G reviews progress of govt schemes & pending issues

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) hold a meeting with departmental secretaries/ Head of Departments (HODs) at Raj Niwas on August 11 and reviewed the progress of various government schemes and pending issues in their respective departments.

LG discussed various issues with the Departmental Secretaries/HODs, viz. the shortage of potassium bisulfite in Ladakh; the cafeteria at the Hunder Sand Dunes owned by Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh; the progress on the construction of the new bridge after the existing one was washed away in the flash floods; the allegation of illegal operation of taxi services by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel in Changthang; the update on the declaration of result for Ladakh Selection Posts 2022 by Staff Selection Commission; the proposal on Back to Villages Programme; the update on the establishment of Sainik School in Ladakh; the clearance of the pending bills for the works carried out during Y-20 preparations; the implementation of projects funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives after proper consultation with the HLG; the leasing of the government-owned Moonland Hotel; the transfer of school principals along with justification for their transfers; the progress on restoration of roads/blacktopping of roads damaged during the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission works in Chuchot village; the upcoming State Board Wildlife meeting; the upcoming meeting between parents and management at Delhi Public School; the implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga and Meri Mati Mera Desh programmes in Ladakh; the progress on recruitment drives in Ladakh Police; the security arrangement for His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his visit to Khaltse, etc.

LG emphasised thinking about the benefit of the people of Ladakh, the need to focus on economising and providing justice to all and taking out time to serve the people of Ladakh. LG instructed the officials not to cause any delay in their work to ensure the overall development of Ladakh. He emphasised on proper disposal of soiled national flags and the need for government officials to be strict on work standards for better governance.  

ADGP Ladakh Police, Dr Shiv Darshan Singh Jamwal, IPS; Commissioner Secretary, Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS; Secretary to HLG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve, IAS and other government officials were present in the meeting.
