Kargil observes 69th Youm-e-Fateh

Paying rich tribute to the martyrs, the 69th Kargil Youm-e- Fateh was observed on November 23 in Kargil. 

Brigadier Nayeen Kumar Goyal, Deputy GOC8 Mountain Division, Kargil remembered the victory of 23 November 1948 by the 77 Mountain Brigade and martyrs Subedar Harka Bahadur and his fellows who recaptured the captured posts by the Pakistani on 10 May 1948.

Advocate Mohammad Amir, Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil said, “Indian Army is performing their duties in these difficult terrains and unbearable climatic conditions. The courage and valour of army have made the borders safe. People of Kargil are always with Indian Army in any warlike situations. The situation of war can be known by only those who experienced it.”
 
He further requested Brigadier Nayeen Kumar Goyal, Deputy GOC 8 Mountain Division to provide all facilities to the ex-servicemen Veer Naris and war widows of Kargil besides their welfare programmers for the civilian also.

Brigadier Naveen Kumar Goyal, the Deputy GOC 8 Mountain Division, Kargil said that in all the victory of Indian Army during the wars fought, the civilians of Kargil has an important role which the Indian Army appreciates.

Talking about the welfare work by Indian Army in Kargil he said that Army is running schools, women centers, holding camps etc besides all these it has started training and preparing youths of Kargil for various Army Recruitments rallies.

Haji Gulzar Hussain, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil and T Gyalpo, SSP Kargil paid tribute to the martyrs by laying the wreath at the Kargil War Memorial.
