CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon felicitated the girl students who have represented Kargil Ladakh in various states of India.

The students represented Kargil Ladakh under an initiative taken by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Dr. BD. Mishra under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.   The aim was to enhance interaction and promote mutual understanding between people of different States/UTs through the concept of State/UT pairing.

Executive Councillor for Education, Zakir Hussain, EC, Information, Er Punchok Tashi, EC, Tourism, Kacho Mohammad Feroz, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Ghulam Mohiud in Wani, escort teachers who mentored and guided the students were also present.

Dr Jaffar eloquently emphasized the incredible diversity and unity that characterizes India, likening it to a garden where different flowers flourish. He underlined the significance of "Unity in Diversity," celebrating the myriad cultures, traditions, and people that coexist harmoniously in the nation. 

The CEC encouraged the students, highlighting the unique opportunity they had to interact with individuals from various backgrounds and cultures across India, promoting a sense of unity and mutual respect.

Executive Councillor, Er. Punchok Tashi also took the opportunity to provide valuable insights about the role and functions of LAHDC Kargil, emphasizing the importance of local governance. 

He inspired the girl students to aspire to take an active role in the development of their constituencies, suggesting that participation in elections could be a meaningful way to represent their communities.

The students shared their remarkable experiences during their journeys. They expressed that people they met were curious about Ladakh and expressed a keen interest in visiting the region. This not only showcased the cultural richness of Ladakh but also presented an opportunity for potential tourism and cultural exchange. They also thanked the LAHDC, Kargil UT Ladakh Administration, and the District Administration for such exposure tours. 

Escort teachers, who had played a pivotal role in shaping the students' journeys, suggested organizing scientific tours for more students from the Kargil district so that they would offer educational and enriching experiences, further enhancing the knowledge and exposure to the students.
