Kargil CEC interacts with members of 17000ft Foundation
Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon chaired an interactive session with team members of 17000ft Foundation NGO at Conference Hall, Council Secretariat on January 10.
Radha Raj, Head of Operations 17000ft Foundation gave a detailed presentation about the working model of the NGO, achievements, learning experiences, ongoing projects, plans, potential activities, and other related activities.
CEC Kargil appreciated the efforts of the foundation and their efforts in enhancing the quality of education in government schools in the district. He advised them to put their efforts into exploring rural areas so that the students can get the benefit. He also advised the members of the NGO to provide translated books for the students in Urdu, Hindi, or local languages.
He requested the NGO to provide training for teachers for the Council Model Schools in collaboration with DIET Kargil and School Education so that the teachers are through the expertise provided by the NGO.
Executive Councilor, Education, Zakir Husain raised the issue of dropouts in various government schools, especially in the rural areas. He requested the members of the NGO to develop a mechanism in collaboration with school education to reverse the number of dropout students in government schools.
He also thanked the Secretary and Director of School Education for successfully running the night winter coaching classes for the students. He said this step will help the students boost their confidence while appearing during the CBSE board exams which is happening for the first time.
