Justice Tashi Rabstan lays foundation stone for multipurpose hall at District Court Complex Leh

Justice Tashi Rabstan, Chief Justice (Acting) High Court of J&K and Ladakh laid the foundation stone for the Multipurpose Hall District Court Complex, at Melongthang, Leh through virtual mode from Jammu wing of High Court on July 23.

The multipurpose hall, estimated to cost Rs. 19.78 crores, will feature a ground floor auditorium with a capacity of 260 persons, a separate lounge and dining hall, a physiotherapy room, and a media room. The project is being executed by PWD Leh.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Justice Tashi Rabstan expressed his gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh and Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal for approving the project. He urged the executing agency to complete the project in a time-bound manner, emphasizing that the hall will benefit not only the court's activities but also those of other departments within the UT Administration.

Chief Engineer Abdul Mutallib detailed the provisions included in the hall's design, such as a conference hall, media room, physiotherapy room, and gym. Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh, Spalzes Angmo, presented the vote of thanks.

Virtually attending the ceremony from the Jammu wing of the High Court were Shahzad Azeem, Registrar General of the High Court; M.K. Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice; Sandeep Kour, Registrar Judicial Jammu; Amit Gupta, Member Secretary J&K Legal Service Authority; Anoop Kumar Sharma, Registrar Computers (IT) High Court; Prem Sagar, Secretary High Court Legal Services Committee; Rajni Sharma, Joint Registrar (Judicial) Jammu; and Deldan Angmo, Munsiff attached to the office of Registrar Computers (IT).

In Leh, the event was graced by Splazes Angmo, Principal District and Sessions Judge Leh; Shashi Kant Bhagat, Administrative Secretary Law and Justice UT of Ladakh; judicial officers from the District Headquarters Leh; Shafi Lassu, President of the Bar Association Leh along with other members; Mutallib, Chief Engineer UT Ladakh; Gyatso, SE Leh; and Executive Engineers of PWD Construction Division and Mechanical Division Leh.
