The Special Cell for Women Kargil, in collaboration with the Women Police Station Kargil, organized an awareness program at Jaffaria Academy of Modern Education, Kurbathang, on September 11.

The SHO of the Women's Police Station introduced the functions of the station and educated students on cybercrime and the role of the cyber cell in addressing related issues. Two social workers from the Special Cell for Women led a session titled "Understanding Gender-Based Violence." Khadim Hussain, a social worker, raised awareness about safe and unsafe touch, along with preventative measures to protect against abuse.

Hassina Batool, another social worker, presented various forms of gender-based violence, covering topics such as domestic violence, patriarchy, masculinity, sexual harassment, and women's safety. She also explained the services offered by the Special Cell and highlighted the impact of violence on women's health.

Participants were shown gender-sensitization videos, including a UN clip titled "Impossible Dream" and another titled "Starts with Boys", which addressed issues such as stalking, domestic violence, and patriarchy in India. The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
