Leh :

Bharat Singh Rawat, Control Room Officer of the Integrated Control Room for Emergency Response (ICR-ER), recently visited the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) in Leh on May 21.

During his visit, he met with Shashanka Ala (IAS), the Relief Commissioner, to discuss enhancing coordination in disaster mitigation and relief operations during crisis. The meeting aimed to foster collaboration between agencies and improve preparedness for effective emergency response in the region.

In addition, Bharat Singh Rawat briefed the SEOC staff on the National Database for Emergency Management (NDEM), a unique geo-portal developed by ISRO. NDEM integrates space-based inputs with services from forecasting organizations, addressing all natural disasters across all phases at the PAN India level. It combines a multi-scale geospatial database with decision support system tools, facilitating effective disaster management.

Emphasizing the importance of real-time data sharing, Shri Bharat Singh Rawat urged the SEOC team to provide daily disaster-related data to ICR-ER.

This collaboration is expected to enhance situational awareness and improve decision-making during emergencies.

This initiative underscores the commitment to strengthening disaster response mechanisms and fostering inter-agency collaboration for effective disaster management.
