A delegation of Hill Council Leh headed by Gyal P Wangyal, CEC met and requested His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh on December 7.

Gyal P Wangyal said that the blessing and prayers of His Holiness, the long-cherished dreams of Ladakh to become UT has been fulfilled. He said that the identity, dignity, and liberty of the region has now been restored and we shall now be an architect of our own destiny. 

Inviting His Holiness in the new union territory of Ladakh, He said, “We the people of Ladakh are embarked on the road to prosperity and happiness. It is the wholehearted wish of every Ladakhi that our long-cherished journey should be consecrated by your holiness visiting Ladakh next summer and blessing us all.”

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama agreed to visit Ladakh in summer.

The delegation also attended the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
