Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) of LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, flagged off a Tiranga Rally from the Army Helipad ground on August 14. The rally was organized by the District Administration Kargil in collaboration with the Education and Police Departments under the banner of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.

The event saw participation from Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan; Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil, Shrikant Suse; SSP Kargil, Shree Ram R; Brigadier Prateek Parshar, Commander 121 Brigade; ADC Kargil, Suhail Ahmed; as well as district officers, students, and staff from various government and private schools. The rally concluded at the Auditorium Hall in Kargil.

In his address, CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon congratulated the participants for their enthusiastic involvement, emphasizing the significance of celebrating the nation’s legacy. "There is no greater nation than ours, and we should honor the opportunity to serve it," he remarked.

Dr. Akhoon highlighted that the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign aims to spread patriotism and remind citizens of the struggles of the freedom fighters who made India's independence possible. He also paid tribute to the Indian Army for their role in safeguarding the nation’s borders, encouraging everyone to admire their efforts.

He called upon the civil society of Kargil to display the national flag for the next 24 hours and instructed the Tourism Department to install "I Love India" and "I Love Kargil" signages at key tourist destinations across the district.

During the event, appreciation certificates and mementos were distributed among students who participated in cultural performances, and Team Stringmo was also felicitated. Students from Council Model High School Goma, Kargil, GHS Kaksar, and PM Sri Govt. High School Poyen performed patriotic songs at the Auditorium Hall.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, is designed to instill a sense of patriotism among citizens and raise awareness about the importance of the National Flag.
