Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE) in partnership with MOFA and Vibha Foundation donated 10 oxygen concentrators with the capacity of 10 Liter per Minute (LPM) to Health Department Kargil on June 15.

Expressing gratitude to the donors, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve said that the oxygen concentrators will be issued to the Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the peripheries to treat mildly symptomatic COVID-19 cases. He further informed that15 more oxygen concentrators of 5 LPM each is donated by GHE, MOFA and Vibha Foundation.

DC Kargil said that it is heartening to see a number of NGOs and other organizations coming forward in supplementing the efforts of the District Administration in COVID-19 mitigation measures in the district.

Also, 2 oxygen plants by the National Hydroelectric  Power  Corporation (NHPC), and 1 oxygen plant by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL for Community Health Center (CHC) Chiktan have been sanctioned under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.  DC Santosh Sukhdeve informed that the administration is in continuous touch with other organizations like the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) and various banks for providing COVID-19 logistics and infrastructure.
