GDC Kargil students gain practical skills at district water testing laboratory

Students from Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, accompanied by faculty members, visited the District Water Testing Laboratory of PHED Kargil for a one-day hands-on training program on water quality testing on April 26.
More than 20 students from various semesters actively participated in the session. During the training, experts provided detailed demonstrations and practical insights into several key water testing parameters, including calcium, magnesium, chloride, total hardness, alkalinity, total dissolved solids, conductivity, turbidity, pH, and fluoride levels.
Students also gained exposure to the testing of biological parameters, particularly for E. coli and coliform bacteria.
The session was highly interactive and informative, with experts guiding students through each testing technique, thereby enhancing their practical skills and deepening their understanding of water quality assessment.
