Executive Councillor, Er Phunchok Tashi, dispatched a team on August 5 to assess the damages caused by a flash flood in Sking Lungnak village.

The flash flood, triggered by a cloudburst on August 4, 2024, resulted in significant damage to the village. Community members promptly informed Er Phunchok Tashi of the situation.

In response, a team led by Mohd Hassan, Tehsildar Zanskar, was sent to the site. The team included officers from the Public Works Department (PWD) Zanskar, Rural Engineering Wing (REW) Zanskar, and the Agriculture Department Zanskar.

The team's primary tasks are to assess the extent of the damages and losses and to take immediate action to restore critical infrastructure, including the Zamindari Khul, agricultural fields in Sking, and the footbridge at Thangso. These measures are crucial to ensuring continued support for the farmers and prioritizing relief and rehabilitation for the affected households.
