The Ladakh Scouts Regiment based at Karu reached to the far flung area of Changthang region and provided all possible assistance to the villages of Kayul, Hanle, Demchok and Chumar. 

 

A campaign was launched under the aegis of Fire & Fury Corps, under the flagship of Lieutenant General SK Patyal, Sena Medal, General Officer Commanding Fire& Fury Corps 5th Battalion.

Two physically challenged children were assisted with wheelchairs, mattresses, pillows and other essential bedding materials and adequate rations and stationary for the 36 children who were attending extra coaching classes during their winter vacations at Kayul village.

  

Fourteen needy families of these villages were given sheets to cover the green house in order to promote self-farming and cultivation during the winter months. This effort driven by the Fire & Fury Corps has substantially assisted in reducing the hardship of locals of remote villages of Changthang Region.  These steps will further strengthen the bond between the civil population and the Indian Army. 

The remote villages of Changthang Region are poorly equipped with basic educational facility and the reach of state administrative welfare in these villages is also limited. The locals and village Sarpanches have appreciated the efforts of Fire & Fury Corps.
