A fire broke out at the backside of Jivetsal Photang Shey around 5 in the evening on December 13.  The fire damaged 100 kanal areas.

L.B.A Vice president PT Kunzang said, “The watchman Jivetsal forest Shey and the police department has informed me. The fire damaged around 100 Kanal of thorn bushes. However, a timely effort of fire brigade team and police personnel brought the incident under control.”

David Zangpo, Incharge fire service Leh said, “I was informed about the incident in the evening 5.47 pm. We could not reach the spot quickly because of the traffic jam on the way. And the top of that due to bad BSNL network connection we were not able to spot the location and took 25 minutes to arrive at the spot.”

DSP, Tashi Phuntsog said, “A police team was deployed immediately.Two fire brigades were put to work."

He further added that the cause of the fire is not known and the investigation is going on. However, the timely effort of fire brigade team and police personnel brought the incident under control and poses no threats to nearby villages.
