Executive Councillor, Mohsin Ali takes stock Health Department, Kargil Reviews status of COVID-19 vaccination, infrastructural development works

Executive Councillor, Health,  Mohsin Ali reviewed the functioning of Health Department, Kargil on June 8 at the Council Secretariat.

CMO, Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, briefed EC Health about the different activities of the department and infrastructural developmental works under different schemes/components, especially steps being taken to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr Abdul Jalil Wani informed that 100% vaccination has been completed in case of 60+ persons, Frontline Workers and 45-59 age category persons in the district. Out of the total target of 45,000 persons in the age group of 18-44 years, 23,864 beneficiaries have been vaccinated till date. 

Block Medical Officers presented the status of works and achievements in respect to their blocks, and urged EC Health to provide vehicles for inspection of the sub-centres.

EC Health, Mohsin Ali inquired about the progress of infrastructural development works on different CHCs, PHCs and Sub Centres especially the 300 Bedded Hospital at Kurbathang and CHC Chiktan. He directed the CMO to approach the PWD authorities for the construction of reception centre at CHC Chiktan.

He also appreciated the work done by the employees of the Health Department right from Orderly to Chief Medical Officer to uplift the Heath sector especially in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in the district.

EC Health will be visiting District Hospital, Kargil on June 10 to take on spot appraisal of the functioning of the health institution and the various issues of the Health Department Kargil.
