Education Mela held at Hanu Yokma

Education Mela was celebrated at High School Hanu-Yokma on 4th April under the Chairmanship of Tsewang Punchok, Chief Education Officer Leh as the Chief Guest and Tsering Norbu was the Guest of Honor. The programme was designed and initiated by the both ZRPs of Khalatse Zone as per direction by the Zonal Education Officer Khalatse and support by the Headmasters of the Schools, VEC Chairmen, Sarpanches and Panches.
One High school, two Middle Schools and three Primary Schools of MERA-HANU (Model village) participated in the contest.
The competition was divided in the project on Mathematics, Science and Environmental Studies. Beside the project competition, singing and dancing competition among various schools of Hanu-Belt was also held. All the schools enthusiastically participated in the Mela by setting up different stalls. The Ama Tsogspa also performed a colorful song and dance in full of traditional dress.
Dorjai Takpo, Panch on behalf of the V.E.C. demanded Bhoti teacher and a full-fledged Headmaster as soon as possible.
Rigzin Tashi Sarpanch stressed in providing quality education and proper functioning of the school. He requested the Chief Education Officer Leh to provide all facilities to achieve the goal of Model village in a true sense.
Tsering Norbu Z.E.O Khalatse explained the schemes and policies of education department and warned the concerned contractor to complete the construction work of P/S Hanu- Skongshed , P/S Hanu-Farol and Hanu-Rong in a stipulated duration otherwise action will be taken against the defaulter as per Government rules.
The guests and Judges inspected different project of various schools and asked various questions regarding their models.
Sonam Punchok Z.R.P and Tsering Angchuk Z.R.P conducted the programme in a successful way.
In the end, Chief Education Officer Leh distributed prizes and certificate to the winners and appreciated the winners. He also stressed on strengthening Government Schools by giving quality education in far-flung areas.
