A review meeting of the entire department was chaired by Gyal P Wangyal Executive Councillor for Health on May 27 at Tangtse.

 

District level and sub-divisional officers headed by Dr Udham Singh, SDM Tangtse besides Tashi Namgyal, Councillor Tangtse, Konchok Stanzin, Councillor Chushul attended the meeting.

EC, Wangyal took a  detailed review of all the on-going developmental projects and schemes of various departments like PDD, Youth Services & Sports, Medical, Education, Forest, ICDS, Public Health Engineering, Cooperative, Agriculture, CA&PD, and R&B. 

Councillor of Tangtse and Chushul constituency raised issues and problems of their constituencies and requested for the intervention of the concerned officers and officials for their early redressal. 

Various problems such as electricity including non-functional of various Solar Power Plants, insufficient drinking water supply at Tangtse, vacant posts of physical education teachers in schools, opening up of NCC wings in both Tangtse and Chushul schools, requirement of drum sets for school band, plantation of trees, land issues  and other demands were put forth in the meeting. 

EC Wangyal directed the Forest department for community plantation and to supply tree saplings to all the departments as they will plant at least 25 trees in their office complex. 

Tsering Tashi, Youth Services and Sports Officer told in the meeting that e-tendering for school drum sets has already been flouted and on completion of which drum sets will be provided to all high and higher secondary schools. 

EC Wangyal discussed the issues in detail and sought a solution in the meeting from the concerned department. He assured to address the remaining issues in the phased manner.

Taking serious note of absent of Block Sheep Officer Tangtse in the meeting, EC Wangyal instructed SDM to issue explanation letter against the officer and said that he will take this matter with Deputy Commissioner, Leh. 

He gave strict instructions to all the government officers and officials not to leave the station without prior Station Leave Permission.

EC Wangyal along with SDM and Councillors inspected the meeting/conference hall of SDM Tangtse. The hall needs finishing touch including treatment of roof for which EC Wangyal directed AEE R&B to complete all remaining works of the hall at the earliest.
