EC Tashi participates in 5-day Leadership & Management Development Program in Gujarat
Executive Councillor, RD&PRD, LAHDC, Kargil, Er Punchok Tashi is participating in the 5-day Leadership and Management Development Program for the Leadership in Panchayat for Strategic Rural Transformation being held at JSW School of Public Policy at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Gujarat from January 15-19.
The Zila Parishad, DDC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Panchayat 2 each from across the country including Union Territory are participating in this workshop.
Minister of State Govt. of India, Kapil Moreshwar Patil shared his vast experience from Sarpanch in 1988 to a Union Minister. He stressed all the Zila Parishad and CEO of PRI to work with zeal and innovative ideas to become a model in their state and district so that others take inspiration.
During discussions with the MOS, the Executive Councilor proposed the need for area-specific programming in all flagship schemes of the GoI. This approach would consider the diverse weather and geography across different states. He recommended the inclusion of snow clearance for rural footpaths and roads under MGNREGA. In hilly areas, where fieldwork becomes impractical after September due to harsh weather, snow clearance during winter months emerges as a feasible and beneficial option.
Experts from various fields across the country delivered lectures on leadership and teamwork in the context of Strategic Rural Transformation. Sunil Kumar, former Secretary PRI, GoI, addressed the integration of different tiers of the Panchayati Raj system, while another session focused on social media engagement for Panchayat Leaders.
