Surgeon Dr. Sajjad Hussain from Kargil was honored with a fellowship award during the 14th Convocation of EndoSurg at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 17. In addition to the fellowship, he received a ‘Certificate of Merit’ in the Art and Science of Laparoscopic Surgery.

The event attracted leading surgeons from across the country and abroad, showcasing the prestige of this significant conference organised by the Department of Surgical Disciplines at AIIMS.

The convocation was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of the late Sushma Swaraj. Other prominent attendees included AIIMS Director Prof. M. Srinivas, Prof. Sunil Chambal (Head of the Department of Surgery), and esteemed surgeons such as Prof. S.D. Maurya, Prof. M.C. Mishra, and Prof. S. Padma Kumar, alongside various international and national surgical experts.

The four-day EndoSurg Conference included training in robotic surgery utilizing the Da Vinci Xi and Hugo RA systems, as well as the 17th National Conference of the Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India. The program featured cadaveric workshops, expert panel discussions, and live operative demonstrations.
