Dr. Pawan Kotwal reviews Health & Medical Education department

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor and Administrative Secretary, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department, UT Ladakh reviewed the pace of progress achieved on different works in the H&ME Department at Civil Secretariat, Leh on August 10.

Director of Health & Medical Education, Dr Motup Dorjey apprised the Advisor regarding the achievements under the Health Department, UT Ladakh which includes the status of 108 ambulance services; utilization of hospital development funds; review of the oxygen infrastructure; functioning of the Health & Wellness Centre/ e-Sanjeevani Scheme/ e-hospital; updates on construction work of Health Department under Special Development Package (SDP); status of Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Zanskar Community Health Centre; status of National

Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificates of Health institution; status of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses in district hospitals of Leh and Kargil; status of central heating system in the hospitals; infrastructure and M&E ready for the inauguration; pending DPRs of works approved in SDP 2023-24, etc.

During the review meeting, Advisor urged upon all the concerned departments to ensure the completion of works on time and he appreciated the concerned departments for active cooperation and coordination for the implementation of schemes under National Health Mission (NHM).

Dr Pawan Kotwal stresses-on on several topics like app formation, hyperbaric chamber, enquired about the status of the central heating of 22 Health Institutions, 86 four-set staff quarters, doctor’s quarters, PMDP Scheme, etc of Skurbuchan, Temisgam, Saspol, and Khaltse, etc and reviewed the cost proposed to be constructed in the CHC Padum Zanskar.

Dr. Kotwal stressed upon inspection and asserting the condition of medical equipment and supplies regularly.

He directed the Managing Director of the National Health Mission to install internet facilities at various Health & Wellness Centres along with solar power and a small DG set wherever required.

Dr Pawan Kotwal also directed the executive engineer of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to make a presentation on the final designing the Sub-District Hospital and directed Chief Medical Officer, Kargil to give a presentation on the construction of additional facilities at 300 bedded Hospital at Kargil.
