District Police Leh organises Traffic Awareness camp 150 bikers participates in the rally

A traffic awareness camp was organised jointly by District Police Leh in collaboration with District Administration, Army, CPF and Bike Rental Association, Leh under Operation Jullay with the objective to make general public, Commuters and Driver communities aware about the various Traffic related rules and responsibilities. 

The rally was flagged off by Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS SSP Leh from Shanti Stupa and culminated at Pologround Leh on 25 May. It passed through Changspa, Main-market, Leh-Gate, Housing Colony, Choglamsar, Agling, Skalzangling & Fort-road. 

About 150 bikers participated in the motorcycle rally displaying various traffic awareness placards & banners.

Saugat Biswas, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Leh was the Chief Guest & other members present were Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Leh, Tsering Gyalpo, ASP Leh, President, Bike Rental Association, Leh and other distinguish members. 
   
Saugat Biswas said that the rally will not be successful until it is not follow which depends on public awareness. Rallying, announcing, and sticking posters are not good enough to improve the traffic rules in the city. It can be done by taking action & bringing change in the public. Each and every citizen should act responsible and learn the rules before driving. He also added to build civic sense within oneself and others too by advising them.

Sunil Gupta suggested people to keep the city beautiful, neat and safe.  “Cleanliness, beauty and the safe road for driving are the factors in increasing influx of tourist & Leh is among one of them," said Dr. Sunil. He suggested avoiding parking vehicle near shops to prevent traffic jams.

The District Police Leh distributed pamphlets among the people and suggested to follow traffic rules and regulations.  Power point presentation on Traffic Awareness and videos were screened for the general public and Drivers at Auditorium Hall, Leh. Pamphlets containing penalty according to the Motor Vehicle Act for the violation of traffic rules were distributed among the masses.

In the end, District Police orchestra team presented a musical show to the general public.
