SSP Kargil, Shalindra Kumar Mishra was the Chief Guest and Moses Kunzang, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil was Guest of Honor and other members were present on the occasion.

 Experts of NDRF and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) demonstrated various techniques for saving life and injured in case of any kind of emergencies to the people and school children.

On this occasion Moses Kunzang while talking to the people and school children said that the District Administration is equipping SDRF with latest technologies and will be creating a separate head for SDRF in District Plan.

SDRF Kargil said that in Kargil most of the residential houses buildings are not earth quack proof and this is the reason that SDRF Kargil has to be ready for any kid of eventualities. Answering to a question of our Correspondent Anayat Ali about preparation and technology available with SDRF Kargil as Kargil falls in Seismic Zone 5.

Shalindra Kumar Mishra told that it’s right that Kargil falls in Seismic zone 5 and there should be proper arrangement for any kind of disaster whether it is earthquake, Flashfloods etc.

“District Police along with District Administration is focused on increasing the facilities and technologies to SDRF Kargil so that it has all required technologies and man force soon” he said.

As people cannot change the fact that Ladakh is an earthquake prone area but there should be adequate arrangements for disaster management.

Ladakh has recently passed with the disastrous Flash floods and at that time due to lack of Proper Disaster Management system has caused loose too many life.

People in Ladakh particularly in Kargil are demanding proper arrangement of Disaster Management form the center Government.

Recently the Phuktal and Kapila Tragedy are examples of lack of proper disaster management in Ladakh as to tackle such problem experts were called from outside J&K.
