District-level Science, Mathematics, and Environment exhibition showcases student innovation in Kargil
The District Level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition 2024, focusing on five sub-themes—health, lifestyle for the environment, agriculture, communication and transport, and computational thinking—was organized by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil at Chhutuk, Kargil, on September 18.
The event was graced by Zakir Hussain, Executive Councillor for Education, LAHDC Kargil; Tsering Paldan, Director of Education Ladakh; S. D. Namgyail, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kargil; Abdul Quyoom, Principal of DIET Kargil; heads of Departments (HODs); faculty members; and students from various schools.
EC Zakir Hussain, along with Director Education Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, and CEO Kargil, S. D. Namgyail, inspected the exhibition stalls, where students showcased innovative science models, reflecting their creativity and scientific understanding. A total of 19 schools participated in the exhibition, each presenting unique and innovative projects.
In his welcome address, Principal DIET Kargil, Abdul Quyoom, expressed gratitude to the guests and participants for their involvement in the exhibition.
Director Education Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, congratulated all participants and commended DIET Kargil for organizing the event. He emphasized that such exhibitions foster scientific thinking and creativity among students.
CEO Kargil, S. D. Namgyail, praised the students for their innovative ideas and acknowledged the role of teachers in guiding them. He highlighted the importance of such platforms in encouraging students to express their creativity and display their talents through projects.
During the event, students shared their experiences, and appreciation certificates and mementos were awarded to the top performers in each sub-theme.
The 15 position holders from various themes will participate in the Union Territory-level Science Exhibition 2024, which will be held in Leh on September 20. After being screened by national experts, selected students from this event will compete at the national level.
Lecturer Dr. Wilayat Ali concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
