Discussion on grant of state award for 2023 held
Advisor/ Chairman of the UT level selection committee discussed the recommendations for the grant of the state award for the year 2023, towards recognising and honoring exemplary contributions done by different persons at the conference hall, UT Secretariat on January 17.
The meeting highlights the importance of acknowledging outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of bravery, public services, literature, art and craft, sports, social reforms, teaching, and academics.
Advisor, Dr. Pawan Kotwal emphasised the need for a comprehensive selection process to identify individuals across diverse fields who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact on the community. The Committee deliberated on the criteria for the State Award, ensuring that it reflects the highest standards of merit and aligns with the values of UT Ladakh, he added.
The Committee members engaged in constructive discussions, examining the nominations received for the State Award and deliberating on the strict evaluation process that will determine the deserving recipients. The commitment to maintaining transparency, fairness, and integrity in the selection process was reiterated throughout the meeting.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal expressed confidence that the State Award for the year 2023 would not only recognise exceptional individuals but also inspire others to contribute meaningfully to the progress of UT Ladakh. He stated the UT Ladakh Administration remains committed in its pursuit of honoring those who have left an indelible mark on the region, and the State Award ceremony promises to be a testament to the unwavering spirit of achievement and service in UT Ladakh.
The names for the prestigious awards are expected to be officially declared on the auspicious day of Republic Day i.e. 26th January 2024.
