Discussion on the issue of essential commodities supply in rural areas was held in the meeting of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Leh on December 4.

The meeting was convened by Tsering Sandup, Deputy Chairman, Hill Council, Leh. Assistant Director, FCS&CA Leh, Chief Inspector and TSOs of FCS&CA department, Leh were present.

Tsering Sandup directed TSOs to timely supply adequate ration to the public especially to those who live in snowbound areas.

He also enquired about the stocking of ration for winter months. 

Regarding the shortage of onions in the district, he said that that he will take up the issue of onion and allocation of sugar quota with the concerned authority. 

A meeting with the department will be conducted monthly and the concerned officials were directed to come with detail information.
