CHC Sankoo awarded National Quality Assurance Standards certification
The Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo in Kargil has been awarded the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) Certification by the National Health Systems Resource Centre, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on October 19.
This recognition underscores CHC Sankoo's dedication to delivering high-quality healthcare, upholding patient rights, and fostering community health awareness.
CHC Sankoo is the first healthcare facility in Kargil district to achieve this certification, a notable accomplishment for the region. The certification was granted following a comprehensive external assessment conducted by empaneled assessors starting on September 26, 2022. The evaluation covered all 12 departments of the facility, assessing various aspects of healthcare delivery, infrastructure, and compliance with national quality benchmarks.
CHC Sankoo excelled in the external assessment, securing a top score of 97.52%, the highest among two public health facilities in the Union Territory of Ladakh for 2023. This achievement is a testament to the center's commitment to maintaining exemplary standards in cleanliness and infection control.
Dr. Zahida Khatoon, Block Medical Officer at CHC Sankoo, expressed her deep gratitude to the doctors, paramedical staff, and housekeeping team for their dedication and hard work, which played a vital role in earning this prestigious certification.
