CEC visits Rumbak, Rumchung villages, assures earliest solution for genuine demands Councillor demands completion of link road from Khusing to Rumbak

To take stock of various developmental activities being carried out under different schemes, Dr. Sonam Dawa, CEC visited Rumbak and Rumchug villages on November 23. 

He was accompanied by Tsering Sandup, EC Tourism, Sonam Norboo, Councillor, Skyu- Markha and a team of district level officers and engineers.

Sonam Norboo, councillor demanded the earliest completion of link road from Khusing to Rumbak which is one of the long pending demands of the area. 

Since Rumbak area comes under Nimoo block, Councilor Norboo requested CEC to include these villages in Leh block to pace up the developmental activities. He also requested to bring schools of these villages under the jurisdiction of ZEO Leh instead of ZEO Chushot.

Regarding electrification of these villages, Norboo said that NHPC has partially erected electric poles in the year 2008-09 but till date no electric lines have been laid. People also demanded mobile tower and additional hand pumps, DSPT and drinking water facility at Yurutsey, repair of Pony track from Rumbak to Yurutsey, protection bund along the Rumbak Nallah and water supply scheme for Rumchung village.  Also, an allotment of command area land on the opposite side of Phey village and lift irrigation scheme facility were also demanded.

Dr. Dawa assured to complete the Rumbak road by next year and for earliest electrification of these villages, he assured to take up the case with NHPC and strong follow –up to sanction one Solar Power Plant. Regarding mobile tower, CEC said that Council is trying hard to sanction BSNL towers for almost all the cut-off villages of the district. 

Taking note of all the demands and issues of the villages, CEC assured the earliest solution for all the genuine demands on a priority basis.
