Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, accompanied by DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, and Councillor Khaltse constituency, Lobzang Sherab, undertook a one-day tour of Khaltse constituency on August 26. The tour involved the inauguration of several community projects and the laying of foundation stones for key developmental works, with an estimated cost exceeding ₹27 crore 75 lakh.

The delegation included Superintendent Engineer, PWD, Stanzin Gyatso; Superintendent Engineer, PMGSY; Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh; Project Officer, ICDS, Leh; Chief Education Officer; Chief Agriculture Officer; SDM, Khaltse; XeN, PHE; XeN, PDD; and other concerned officials.

CEC Gyalson visited the villages of Ulley, Mangu, Lhardo, and Alchi, where he interacted with public gatherings. The villagers of Sham region warmly welcomed the officials during their visit.

The tour began with a visit to Ulley village, where CEC Gyalson laid the foundation stone for a new Community Hall under the district plan. Following this, the team proceeded to Mangu village, where CEC Gyalson, alongside DC/CEO Santosh Sukhadeve and Councillor Lobzang Sherab, laid the foundation stone for flood protection work at Mangue Nalla.

In Lhardo village, CEC Gyalson laid the foundation stone for a new Community Hall, with DC Leh and Councillor Lobzang Sherab in attendance.

During their visit, villagers highlighted major issues, including the need for road blacktopping, improved tele-connectivity, repair of motorable bridges, and developmental needs at monasteries.

CEC Gyalson also visited Alchi village, where he reviewed developmental requirements and addressed grievances raised by village representatives. Foundation stones were laid for the construction of a public gathering Community Hall, a Futsal ground, a link road to Alchi Dok, and an ICDS Centre.

CEC Gyalson praised the local community for their efforts in regional development and assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed. He also congratulated the people on the announcement of five new districts in Ladakh, calling the day both auspicious and historic, particularly noting the new designation of Sham as a district.
