Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, convened a meeting with members of the Phande Lekjin Welfare Society on August 19 to discuss arrangements for organizing an eye camp in Kargil.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy CMO Kargil, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kargil, Director Khanpo Kochock Dorjay, Eye Camp Coordinator Er. Kunzes Dolma, President Chemet Dorjay, and other representatives of the organization.

A detailed discussion was held regarding the objectives of the eye camp, which is tentatively scheduled for September/October 2024. The members of the organization requested logistical and manpower support from the CEC to ensure the smooth organization of the event.

CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon commended the Phande Lekjin Welfare Society for their humanitarian efforts and assured them that LAHDC Kargil would provide full support and make all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the eye camp.

He emphasized that the camp should particularly benefit marginalized sections of society who cannot afford medical expenses at private hospitals outside Kargil. He directed the Deputy CMO and Medical Superintendent to compile a comprehensive list of villages, grouping them based on proximity, to determine the locations for the camp.

Additionally, CEC Kargil instructed the CMO to inform all BMOs and Medical Officers about the final dates for the eye camp screenings, ensuring they are well-prepared and able to facilitate the event effectively.
