CEC, Feroz Khan inspects 11 KV Power Transmission Line at Batalik area

CEC, Hill Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan inspected the 11 KV Transmission Line executed by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGICL) at Batalik area on June 17.

Executive Engineer, Distribution Division (PDD), Kargil, Altaf Hussain; Deputy General Manager, (PGICL), Kargil, Syed Shamim; Manager (PGICL), K Ansari; Manager, TATA Power Project, Kargil, Chank besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the visit.

Meanwhile, CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan also inspected the ongoing works on the 11 KV line from village Lalung to Garkone.

The concerned officers of PGICL while apprising the CEC about the current status of the works underway said that the transmission line has been executed step wise from village Barchay to Lalung, Lalung to Batalik, Batalik to Darchiks and Darchiks to Garkone.

The concerned officers further informed that the work was initiated last year and is presently at the completion stages, adding it will soon be handed over to the PDD Kargil for power distribution.

CEC Khan while stressing the need for installation of poles on specific locations directed the concerned officers to ensure that these should be located as much as possible away from the cultivable land patches and tree plantations. He also urged the locals to indicate specific areas for installation of the poles and transmission lines.

It was informed on the occasion that a receiving station will be established at village Lalung for which land has already been already allotted.

The officers of Power Grid and PDD assured that the pending works will be completed by end of this month, the area will be connected with Power Grid in near future besides 24 hours power supply will be provided to the local population, and with this a long pending demand of the people of Batalik area will be fulfilled.
