CEC, Dr Jaffer reviews physical, financial achievements of RD&PRD
CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon conducted a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department (RD&PRD) on January 18.
Executive Councilor, Tourism and KDA, Kacho Mohd Feroz; ACD Kargil, Ghulam Mohd; Executive Engineer REW Shabbir Hussain, BDO’s of different blocks, officers of RD&PRD besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
The meeting involved discussions and deliberations on the physical, financial, and overall achievements in various sectors.
ACD Kargil provided an overview of the status of physical and financial achievements in various sectors, including State Sector, SDP, District Capex, MGNREGA, Grant in Aid, PMAYG, NRLM, Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen, CCDA, and Untied.
It was reported that 99 percent of the works under MGNREGA have been completed, and the CEC commended the officers involved in the segregation sheds under SBM, considering it a beneficial and innovative concept for the public. He urged them to continue this initiative with dedication.
CEC Dr. Jaffer expressed satisfaction with the progress of NRLM, benefiting numerous Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the district. He instructed the concerned department to recommend the achiever of Lakh Pati Didi for an award during the Republic Day celebration.
In anticipation of a potential water crisis during the upcoming summers, the CEC directed the relevant department to present an effective water management plan.
Dr. Jaffer emphasized that the undertaken works should manifest on the ground, urging officers to ensure regular scrutiny and monitor the completion status of projects. He further mandated the completion of billing works within a week and emphasized achieving 100 percent expenditure before the end of the current financial year.
Highlighting the importance of maintaining the momentum of developmental projects without compromising quality, the CEC directed a focus on prioritizing livelihood and employment through Rural Development Department (RDD) schemes.
