CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon on May 23 visited District Hospital Kargil to assess its overall functioning and the healthcare facilities being provided.

He was accompanied by the Medical Superintendent, Resident Medical Officer (RMO), and other concerned officers from the hospital.

During the visit, CEC Dr. Jaffer inspected various wards and departments, including the ICU, and reviewed the ongoing construction work at the Blood Bank, directing officials to expedite the completion at the earliest.

He also interacted with patients to understand their experience and the quality of services provided, and encouraged doctors and medical staff to work with a missionary spirit for the welfare of the people.

Addressing specific concerns raised by hospital staff, the CEC was informed of issues including the lack of a prayer room. He assured that funds have already been allocated for its construction under new works. He further instructed officials to regulate unauthorized parking in the hospital premises and directed them to initiate the outsourcing of manpower to manage parking more efficiently.

Dr. Jaffer also assured the installation of high-power street lights in the hospital compound to enhance safety and accessibility.

The CEC later visited the under-construction new wing of the hospital and reviewed the progress of the work. He also took stock of the availability of essential medicines and met with patients injured in recent accidents.
