LEH :
A one day protest against the opposition party for the disruption carried out in the parliament during the budget session was staged by Thupstan Chhewang, MP and other BJP leaders on April 12 at Balkhang Chowk, Leh.

Thupstan Chhewang said, “We have observed this day to keep our country stable and to reach out to the people to make them aware of the fact. Till date, we have never faced such situation in parliament. During the budget session in the parliament, the Congress party have managed to spill the beans which have brought disgrace to the country.

Narendra Modi in his four years of governance has brought remarkable changes in the country. He has worked hard for the development of the poor people and has introduced many schemes for their upliftment. The Congress party is poking nose and trying to create hindrance in the way of development”.

He added “UT is very important for Ladakh and BJP will try every effort to get the status. Nitin Gadkari had announced UT within 6 months but there is a problem in the state and we are restricted by the MLA’s in the Srinagar. People of Ladakh will one day unite to raise the demand for UT once again in the State Assembly. I am ready for even the worst situation on the way to get the status and will battle for it till my last breath.”

He expressed his concern over the assault on Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, CEC, Kargil by SHO at Sonamarg. He urged the people of Ladakh that this is high time to fight for UT so that we can breathe independently.

When asked about Article 370, he said, “Recently there was an observation by the Supreme Court that there is no way to abrogate Article 370 but India is a sovereign democratic nation and can make changes in the constitutional amendments.”

Tsewang Gonbo, President BJP Leh said, “The day is observed as an unfortunate day in the history of India because the country is on the track of development under the leadership of Narendra Modi but the Congress party and other opposition parties are not able to endure their incompetence”.

He further said, “We all know that earlier when BJP was not in power every day there was news of corrupt ministers and case of money laundering, now since the BJP is the ruling party there are very fewer cases and the country is moving towards progress, but the Congress party could not take the pressure and created chaos in the parliament sessions.”

Nassir Ahmed, District Vice president said, “This has happened for the first time in 70 years, we never created any disruption while we were the opposition party. Losing power and having only 4 states under them made the frustration erupt in the parliament which results in incompletion of the parliament session.”

The Budget session was disrupted and no discussion took place as the opposition party tarnishes the parliament session.
