Animal Husbandry handed two yaks, two bulls to Hanu villagers

An awareness camp was organized by Animal Husbandry Departments, Leh at Hanu village on 24th March under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY).
Barkat Ali Loan, SDM Khaltsi was the chief guest on the occasion. He advised the villagers to take full advantages of the schemes of Animal Husbandry Department and Forest Department.
The Animal Husbandry Department handed over two Yaks and two Bulls to Hanu villagers for breeding of high-quality livestock.
The Forest Department Khaltsi distributed two types of plants willow and poplar to the farmers of Hanu village for increasing plantation of trees on the barren lands.
During the awareness camp, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Abdul Qayoom briefed about the benefits of Yaks and Bulls for crossbreeding and urged upon the farms to keep Jersey Cows for increasing their income by supplying milk and by-products of milk to the army. A telefilms for making cheese from milk was also shown during the camp.
