Advisor Dr. Pawan Kotwal chaired a preparatory meeting to plan the celebration of the 6th Union Territory Foundation Day on October 31, at Polo Ground, Leh.

To ensure a vibrant and successful celebration of the 6th UT Ladakh Foundation Day, which coincides with Ekta Diwas (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday), Dr. Kotwal directed officials to organize an "Ekta Pledge" and a "Run for Unity."

He emphasized the need to display attractive hoardings along roadsides and instructed that widespread awareness about the event should be promoted through electronic and print media for maximum outreach.

To further mark the celebration, the Advisor instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Leh to illuminate prominent buildings in Leh, and similarly, the District Magistrate of Kargil was tasked with ensuring the same in Kargil. He highlighted the importance of involving students from schools and colleges and directed officials to begin rehearsals for the event to ensure its smooth execution.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of UT Ladakh, DGP Ladakh, DIG Ladakh, Commissioner/Secretary of Social and Tribal Welfare, Administrative Secretary of GAD, Administrative Secretary of Culture and Tourism, District Magistrate Leh, Director of Finance, Director of Commerce and Industries, and other concerned officials. The District Magistrate of Kargil, Director of School Education Leh, AD Leh, Director of Social Welfare, Director of Tourism, and Director of RDD joined the meeting virtually.
