Adoption Awareness Month: UT Ladakh hosts event on foster care and adoption
As part of Adoption Awareness Month, themed ‘Rehabilitation of Older Children through Foster Care and Foster Adoption’, the State Adoption Resource Agency, UT Ladakh, organized a Prospective Adoptive Parents Meet at the Cultural Academy Hall on November 23.
The event aimed to raise awareness about adoption, dispel common myths, and provide a platform for prospective adoptive parents to engage with experts.
Ram Saran, Integrated Finance Officer from the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), New Delhi, attended as the Chief Guest. Tashi Dolma, Director of Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh, along with prospective adoptive parents, also participated in the event.
A panel discussion on adoption, foster care, and foster adoption highlighted expert insights and shared experiences. Prospective adoptive parents voiced their challenges and addressed misconceptions surrounding adoption. Adding to the event’s vibrancy, children from the Lions Club Hostel and Rgaastal performed cultural programs, infusing energy and enthusiasm.
The meet concluded with tokens of appreciation presented to the prospective adoptive parents. The State Adoption Resource Agency, UT Ladakh, remains dedicated to fostering adoption awareness and supporting families in their adoption journey. This event marked a significant step towards creating a nurturing ecosystem that celebrates the joy of family and the importance of adoption.
