658 cases settled in 3rd National Lok Adalat in Kargil

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Kargil successfully organised the 3rd National Lok Adalat, during which 658 cases were settled out of a total of 701. A settlement amount of ₹1,29,050 was recovered, along with ₹1,70,150 in fines.

Five benches were constituted to hear various cases, including Criminal Compoundable matters, cases under Section 138 of the NI Act, MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases, bank recovery cases, matrimonial disputes, and other civil matters.

The first bench was presided over by Malik Shabir Ahmad, Chairman of DLSA and Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kargil, along with Advocate Syed Mehdi Aga, Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel, Kargil. The second bench was led by Wangial Tsering, Sub-Judge/Special Mobile Magistrate 13th Finance, and Delden Angmo, Munsiff/JMIC Sankoo. The third bench was headed by Imran Hanif, Chairman TLSC/Munsiff/JMIC Drass, alongside the Tehsildar of Drass. The fourth bench was presided over by the Assistant Commissioner of Revenue, Kargil, and the Tehsildar of Kargil. The fifth bench was led by the SDM of Zanskar and the Tehsildar of Zanskar.
