3-month short-term training programme under PMKVY 3.0 starts in Kargil
Three months long short-term training under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 (PMKVY 3.0) was inaugurated by CEC, Hill Council, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan on July 27 at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kargil.
The training programme is the first skill training taken up under PMKVY since the formation of the Ladakh Skill Development Mission being conducted by the Technical Education and Skill Development Department UT Ladakh. The programme will cover different trades like fashion designing, plumbing, electrician, and self-employed tailoring.
CEC, Hill Council, Kargil said that the trades in skill development should be compatible with the job market and must have demand and scope in the market. He further said that the performance of the trained youth should be assessed from time to time to check their results.
He said that the ITI should have a full-fledged and technically equipped building and assured to take up the issue with UT Administration.
The aim of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 (PMKVY 3.0) is to generate livelihood opportunities for the youth trained under this scheme and to create an ecosystem for the youth to make informed choices on the available skilling avenues. It also aims to provide support to youth for skill training and certification besides also promoting sustainable skill centres for greater participation of the private sector.
Executive Councillor for ITI, Mohsin Ali said that the aim of the government in launching schemes like PMKVY is to develop skills and generate employment for the youth and the public should come forward to take full benefit from these schemes to their full potential.
Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve said that PMKVY is significant in producing various skills among youth and generating employment. He urged the youth to take maximum benefits from these training sessions and include themselves in the category of highly skilled youth.
Superintendent ITI, Muhammad Kazim; Principal, Government Degree College, Kargil, Dr Ameena Qari; General Manager NHPC besides trainers and students were present on the occasion.
