Tribal Festival concludes in Garkhon
On 5th of October AIR Kargil team headed by Nissar Naseem with artist from other parts of Kargil reached Garkhon.
The two hours Musical concert was a mind freshening, in which artists from Garkhon, Darchiks and Wakha mesmerized the villagers for preparing for a tough and harsh winter.
Nisar Naseem, Head of Office, All India Radio Kargil welcomed the Guests, Audiences and the Artists.
Nissar Naseem admitted that despite the fact that Garkhon village is historically and religiously one of the significant area in Ladakh region, yet it is downtrodden disconnected and mostly uncared for, but for its cultural and historical ethos, All India Radio owes its services to this hamlet of Aryans. He said, we are here for the first time but will continue our services for this sector as our coverage area.
He said that this concert is our third and final for this year, earlier such programmes were organized in Zanskar and Drass Valley as well for the preservation and promotion of Culture and the Artist community.
Speaking on the occasion Councilor Miskeen Tsering appreciated and thanked AIR, Kargil for this treat and hoped that such efforts will continue in future too. Councillor requested AIR to highlight the miseries, difficulties and grievances of Garkhon, Darchiks and Batalik region of Kargil. He defined this effort of AIR Kargil as life saving drug for dying cultural traditions.
Assistant Director Engineering AIR Kargil, Ramesh Kumar thanked the guests, audiences and Artists with the message that AIR, Kargil will leave no stone unturned in the process of preservation and promotion of historical and ethnic trades of this part of land. He praised the attitude of hospitality of the locals.
The whole concert was anchored by Talha Jahanagir which was appreciated by the audience.
